Intel Labs: Infrastructure for OPNFV IPv6 Project

    Details

      Description

We originally planned to reuse Multisite POD (PHAROS-124) for Multisite IPv6. However, after discussing with Multisite project in Austin, we concluded that the Multisite environment setup is different from Multisite IPv6, especially installer support. The installer support for Multisite IPv6 will not be compatible for Multisite project, and vice versa.

Our basic requirement is to have a multi-region non-HA OpenStack deployment, which is the same as Multisite project, i.e.:

      • This can be two or more OpenStacks that share the same Keystone instance.
      • The regions can be geographically distributed. They can also be hosted on two vPODs in the same location. Whatever works. (Geographically distributed setup would be closer to real-life deployments)
      • Region1 APIs should be reachable from Region2 (since Keystone is shared) and vice-versa.
      • Each OpenStack region has to have core services: Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Keystone.
      • Each region can be installed by installer independently.

Ideally, we may have one blade in one Pharos Lab A, and one blade in another Pharos Lab B which are geographically distributed.
