Originally MoonGen supported - at least at runtime - only aggregated throughput statistics. It is desired to have at least port level statistics that report packet count for both TX and RX upon that network device.

These statistics add support for RFC 2544 like throughput testing. This is specifically is done within the test script opnfv-vsperf.lua.
