Previously, we have studied the scripts provided by IXIA and integrated them with the traffic gen utility in VSPERF - scripts are written for the IXIA SW version installed in POD 12 and will need to be tested there. Python scripts were written to process the captured packet files (pcap format), again with some priming from IXIA to decode their time stamps. Progress stalled when a bug was discovered, capture would not work in combination with the "quick test" feature (used in vsperf). This story has been expanded to evaluate "latency" capability of other hw and sw traffic generators in scope of VSPERF and to compare results.
