Currently we use testpmd as a simple loopback test for phy2phy tests with --vswitch=None flag. This ticket will track the possibility of adding more options with --vswitch=None where it could support guest topologies such as pvp/pvvp, etc.

TestPMD 16.07 has added lots of functionality where this should be possible. Ports can be added to direct traffic in pairs.
